How to Download and Install SeaMonkey Icons

SeaMonkey is a user-supported Web browser and application suite with numerous add-ons and plug-ins to customize your Web browsing experience. Now customizing can include the icons that appear when you are browsing as well. Choose from a range of user-created icons and download them to make your Internet surfing a little more personal.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access

Download and Install the SeaMonkey Application Suite

Step1
Navigate to the SeaMonkey home page (see Resources below).
Step2
Choose your computer's operating system from the list of Mac, Windows or Linux and click on the link to download the SeaMonkey application suite.
Step3
Begin installation by choosing to 'Run' the program when prompted.
Step4
Accept the licensing agreement after reading it and click the 'Accept' link to continue.
Step5
Decide on which version of SeaMonkey you want to download. Choose from Complete, Browser Only or Custom for a range of application options.
Step6
Choose to install a Quick Start SeaMonkey icon by checking the box when prompted.

Access Mozilla SeaMonkey Icons

Step1
Search for sources for SeaMonkey icons. Because icons are created by developers, anyone can create icons to use for SeaMonkey. A good place to start is the home page for the Mozilla online development community.
Step2
Click on the Project Categories option and then click on the Skins and Mods menu in the Add-ons and Extensions category.
Step3
Choose the Iconpacks option from the Skins and Mods list to see a list of current SeaMonkey icon choices.

Download and Install a SeaMonkey Icon Pack

Step1
Select an icon pack that you like from the choices available. Be sure that is includes SeaMonkey as a Recommended Platform.
Step2
Click on the title of the icon pack to begin your download and then click on the 'Install' link on the next page.
Step3
Click on the 'Install' button that appears in the pop up window that reminds you of the danger of installing malicious software.

Tips & Warnings

  • Each icon pack on the Mozilla development page is a forum where users speak of the advantages and disadvantages of each icon pack.
  • Be sure you have 64 MB RAM and 100 MB free disk space available to download SeaMonkey as well as using Linux, Windows 95-XP or MAC OS X 10.2+ operating systems.
  • Because Mozilla icon packs are developed by a community of users, there may be some icon packs that come from unauthorized users and could damage your computer.
  • Instructions for icon packs were designed for version 1.1.1 of SeaMonkey. Check updates for subsequent versions.
