When you zoom in on a page using Internet Explorer, everything on that page becomes larger, sometimes dramatically so. You can use the zoom feature to specify just how large you want the page to be, and you can do this on any page you visit. It is a great way to customize the appearance of a Web page to suit your individual tastes and requirements.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet Explorer
  • Computer with Internet hook-up

Get Ready for Your Close-Up

Step1
Ensure your computer is connected to the Internet, then engage Internet Explorer.
Step2
Locate the 'Page' button in the upper right-hand corner of the browser and click on it.
Step3
Place your mouse over the word 'Zoom,' then click on the percentage indicating how much bigger you would like the page to be.
Step4
Watch the page instantly enlarge. Depending on how large of a percentage you chose, the pictures and text on the page could get very enormous indeed!
Step5
Set the text back to normal size by selecting '100 percent' once again.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you need more help regarding how to zoom in on a page using Internet Explorer, go to the Internet Explorer FAQs page (see Resources below).
  • If you are using anything less than a Pentium processor, you might not get optimum performance from Internet Explorer. To ensure Internet Explorer is running at its best, make sure you have a Pentium processor and at least 64 MB of memory on your hard drive.
  • Using the Internet comes with some inherent dangers. Spyware is one of those dangers. This evil bit of programming attaches itself to your computer and monitors your online activities, then transmits its findings to its remote host. Internet Explorer comes ready with a strong spyware blocker already enabled, so you can cruise the Internet while enjoying a high level of privacy.
  • These instructions are meant to be used with Internet Explorer version 7.0. Other, older versions of Internet Explorer may not be compatible with the steps outlined here.
