You can find all sorts of useful information on the Internet. Sometimes, you may want to print that information to save it for future reference. With Internet Explorer, it is a simple matter to print information from the Web sites that you visit.

Print From Internet Explorer

Step1
Go to your computer and access Internet Explorer. Find a Web page with interesting information on it that you would like to print and keep.
Step2
Go to the 'File' heading on the Internet Explorer toolbar.
Step3
Click 'Print Preview' to see how the page you are about to print will look on paper.
Step4
Hit the 'Escape' button to go back to the Web page you want to print.
Step5
Select 'Print' from the 'File' menu.
Step6
Select your printer from the provided list.
Step7
Hit the 'Preferences' button if you want to give special printing instructions, such as adjustments for color, type of paper and other effects. Click 'OK' when you have made your selections.
Step8
Select whether you want to print headers and footers, background information and images by checking the appropriate boxes.
Step9
Scale your document if necessary by selecting the 'Shrink Pages to Fit' option. You can also make the text larger or smaller by clicking the '+' and '-' buttons.
Step10
Turn on your printer, then click on the 'Print' button. Your Web page will begin printing.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are printing a document from the Internet, such as a PDF file, you may choose whether to print the entire document or just certain pages. This option is presented to you when you select 'Print' from the 'File' menu, and can be found under the 'Page Range' heading in the provided dialog box.
  • Internet Explorer comes equipped with a spyware blocker. This lets you confidently cruise the Internet without having to worry about stealth programming attaching itself to your computer.
  • Keep in mind that Internet Explorer should be run on a Pentium processor for best results and requires at least 64 MB of memory to operate.
  • If you want to print only the text of a Web page without advertisements, try highlighting the page, copying it, and pasting the text into a word-processing document.
  • The steps below were created using Internet Explorer 7.0. If you are using another version of the program, some of these steps may be different.
