How to Go Back to a Previous Version of Internet Explorer

Nostalgia may strike at any time. Even if you have been using the latest version of Internet Explorer for a while, you may still find yourself longing one day to go back in time to when you had an earlier version installed on your computer. Perhaps you have just installed the newest edition of Internet Explorer and do not care for it. You want your old edition back. How do you get it back once you've written over it with the new version? Despite what you may have heard, you CAN go back again.

Visit the Ghost of Internet Explorers Past

1. Close all programs currently running on your computer.

2. Go to your computer's 'Start' menu and select 'Control Panel.'

3. Find the 'Add or Remove Programs' button and click it.

4. Look for the dialog box, then click on 'Show Updates.'

5. Examine the list of programs. When you find your current version of Internet Explorer, click on it, then select 'Change/Remove.' This will remove the current version of Internet Explorer from your computer.

6. Begin using your previous version of Internet Explorer. Once you have removed the current version, your computer should automatically restore the previous version for you to use.
