Depending on your eyesight and personal preferences, you may someday want to change the size of the text you see online when you are using Internet Explorer. Larger text is easier on the eyes if you are struggling to see things clearly. Smaller text allows room for more graphics to show on a page without having to scroll to see it all. Whatever your text size choice, you can make it happen with ease on Internet Explorer. A change in text size is about as simple a change as you can make to your Internet browsing experience.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Connection to the Internet
  • Computer
  • Internet Explorer Version 7

Tips & Warnings

  • When you have additional questions regarding how to change text size on Internet Explorer, head to the Internet Explorer FAQs page (see Resources below).
  • Internet Explorer 7 will run on computers using Windows XP, Vista or Server 2003 with a 233MHz processor or higher.
  • Don't sit too close to your computer screen as you could damage your vision in the long run. If you are having trouble reading text, simply increase its size.
  • Personal security is important when you are traveling online. Hackers and identity thieves abound in the virtual world of the Internet. Internet Explorer encrypts each and every credit card transaction you make online. Encrypted credit card transmissions make it that much harder for criminals to access your personal financial information and that makes your identity much more secure.
  • Changing text size, as described by this guide, is done using Internet Explorer version 7. If you are running a prior version, you may need to upgrade your browser.
