How to Update Your Camino Browser

Mac users with the Camino browser installed have access to released stable updates and nightly changes. Each released update is the most recent version of Camino. Nightlies are the unrefined changes made to Camino the day before. Users may also download third party versions of Camino specialized for specific processors.

Things You’ll Need:

• Internet access
• Installed Camino Web browser
• Mac computer

Update Camino Using Releases

1. Check the Camino Home Page regularly to see if a new version of Camino has been released (see Resources below).
2. Download the new release by clicking on the "Download" link in the upper right hand corner.
3. Install the new release by dragging the Camino icon to your applications folder. Released Camino updates often include new security features such as version 1.0.4's improved ad blocking.

Download Camino Nightlies With Care

4. Log onto the Internet with the Camino Web browser.
5. Visit the Camino Web site (see Resources below).
6. Click on the "Developments" button located at the center top of the page.
7. Choose the 'Download Latest Nightly Build' button at the top right of the page. The nightly update will begin to download automatically.
8. Install nightly builds only if you are an experienced Camino user. Nightly updates are not fully bug free.

Consider Upgrading to an Optimized Version of Camino

9. Go to your favorite search engine.
10. Search the Internet for Camino versions specially tailored to your computer's processor. Specially tailored versions are available from third parties for many different processors.

Tips & Warnings

• Be sure that your Mac runs a Mac OS X operating system with at least 128 MB of RAM and 50 MB of clear hard drive space. Camino will not function with other operating systems.
• Go online to the Camino Home Page if you wish to download Camino (see Resources below).
• If you need further help using Camino, check out Camino Support online (see Resources below).
• The steps on how to update your Camino browser were created for Camino version 1.0.4. Therefore the steps may not be fully applicable to earlier Camino versions.
• Download Camino Nightlies with care, these cutting edge advances do not have all of the bugs worked out yet.
• Remember that optimized versions of Camino are not software developed by the Camino Project.
