With Pimp My Camino, Mac users can customize their Camino browsers with new icon themes, the latest applications, tab themes and much more. You can also customize your Camino browser by translating Camino to the language of your choice by downloading a multilingual update. Best of all, you don't need to worry much about security since Camino automatically protects you from spyware when you visit Web sites.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Mac computer with Camino Web browser Internet access

Change the Look of Your Camino Browser Tabs

Step1
Log onto the Internet.
Step2
Visit the Pimp My Camino Web site (see Resources below).
Step3
Scroll down the page to the categories list.
Step4
Select the 'Themes: Tab Themes' link to view different tab colors and styles.
Step5
Click the title of the tab style you like to download it.
Step6
Install your new tab theme by dragging the icon to your content folder. The content folder is located in the Camino menu.

Translate Your Camino to a New Language

Step1
Surf over to the Camino Home Page (see Resources below).
Step2
Download the latest multilingual Camino update.
Step3
Install the multilingual update by dragging the icon to your applications folder.

Customize Your Camino Application Icon

Step1
Travel to the Pimp My Camino Home Page (see Resources below).
Step2
Click on the 'Themes: App Icons' link in the categories list near the bottom of the page.
Step3
Choose a Camino application icon from the gallery list.
Step4
Click on the 'Download' button underneath the Camino application icon you like to download it.
Step5
Install your new Camino application icon by grabbing the icon, dragging it to your themes folder and restarting Camino.

Tips & Warnings

  • Your Mac computer should have 50 MB of hard drive space available to use Camino. Camino also requires 128 MB of RAM and a Mac OS X operating system.
  • One click on the 'Download' link on the Camino Home Page will download Camino to your Mac (see Resources below).
  • Help customizing all aspects of your Camino browser is available on the Camino Support page (see Resources below).
  • Use the Annoyance Blocking feature on Camino for added security. It will disable all plugins and flash animations.
  • Camino version 1.0.4 was the basis for these steps. The information in these steps may not conform to earlier versions of Camino.
