How to Customize the Camino Toolbar

The Camino browser features a customizable toolbar. Mac users can easily customize the Camino toolbar to add, remove or rearrange buttons on the browser to perform a variety of functions.

Things You'll Need:

  • Mac computer

    Decide Which Browser Features You Use Most

  1. Step 1

    Determine which sites or programs you need at your fingertips. You may wish to add a button to directly access your own Web site, or those of your friends.

  2. Step 2

    Peruse the buttons that exist on the default toolbar setup. You may not need some of the existing buttons.

  3. Step 3

    Refer back to your previous browser's set up. Now is your chance to delete links you thought you would use but never did.

  4. Add Buttons to the Camino Toolbar

  5. Step 1

    Open the Camino browser. The toolbar will be displayed along the top of your screen.

  6. Step 2

    Find the 'View' menu and select 'Customize Toolbar.' A customization sheet will appear.

  7. Step 3

    Choose buttons you wish to add to the toolbar from the customization sheet.

  8. Step 4

    Grab a button you wish to add from the customization sheet with your mouse.

  9. Step 5

    Drop the button onto the toolbar by releasing the mouse.

  10. Step 6

    Repeat this process until you have added all the buttons you want.

  11. Delete Unwanted Camino Toolbar Buttons

  12. Step 1

    Access the customization sheet from the 'View' menu at the top of the screen. The customization sheet appears when you select 'Customize Toolbar.'

  13. Step 2

    Grab a button you wish to delete with your mouse.

  14. Step 3

    Drag the button to the edge of the screen and release the mouse. The button will disappear.

  15. Step 4

    Continue to drag and drop unwanted buttons outside the browser.

  16. Arrange Your Camino Buttons

  17. Step 1

    Grab a Camino toolbar button you wish to move with your mouse.

  18. Step 2

    Drag the button to the position you would like it to occupy.

  19. Step 3

    Drop the button in place by releasing the mouse.

  20. Step 4

    Click the "Done" button on the customization sheet when you are finished.

Tips & Warnings
  • Download Camino at the Camino Web site (see Resources below).
  • If you need additional help to customize your Camino toolbar or have more questions, contact Camino Technical Support (see Resources below).
  • The Camino browser runs on Mac OS X systems and needs 50 MB hard drive space and 128 MB RAM.
  • To increase security, click the 'Empty Cache' button in the Camino application menu to delete stored Web site information.
  • These steps were written to customize the Mac OS X Camino version 1.0.4. The steps may not apply to other versions.
