Things You'll Need:
- Computer with Internet access
-
Step 1
Visit the World Chiropractic Alliance Web site (see Resources below) for a comprehensive list of schools in North America, Europe, Australia and Japan. Make a list of schools near you or in locations you'd be willing to relocate to.
-
Step 2
Create an organizational system to use as you gather information on each school you identified in the previous step. Start by assigning each potential school a file folder, in which you'll put the info you gather. When it comes time to make a comparison, you want these materials to be close at hand and easy to identify.
-
Step 3
Talk to your chiropractor and others in town. Ask them about particular specialties or courses they advise and make notes on particular areas of emphasis you'd like the school to offer.
-
Step 4
Explore the Web sites of each potential school. Look for testimonials, course listings, graduation rates and tuition fee schedules. Contact the college's admission office to get additional information. Reputable programs will put you in contact with students or alumni so that you can get a first-hand opinion about the school.
-
Step 5
Sort through the information about each school and rank them in order of preference. Consider the ease of getting there (relocation vs. local), tuition, prerequisites needed and the course offerings. Once you've narrowed the field to 3 to 5 schools, gather the necessary applications.
-
Step 6
Learn more about what is expected from chiropractic students and what you can expect after you have your degree by visiting the Web site for Natural Healers (see Resources below).
-
Step 7
Gather the necessary application materials for the schools. Send off your materials by the date requested (pay special attention to 'postmarked by' and 'received by' dates).
