Things You'll Need:
- Computer with Internet access
-
Step 1
Choose the right time to begin your 2-week cleanse. Take into account variables like your current health, family plans and work demands. Some folks find that vacation is the perfect time to perform a cleanse. Others who love to drink and dine on vacation would consider this the worst possible time to cleanse.
-
Step 2
Determine the goals you want to achieve during your cleanse, like whether you want to concentrate on detoxifying your liver, ridding your body of excess parasites or bacteria, fine-tuning your digestive tract or achieving another health-related goal.
-
Step 3
Pick a 2-week cleanse product that's tailored specifically to your needs. Cleansing products often include everything you'll need for your cleanse. Plus, they're usually reasonably priced. If you prefer creating your own cleansing products, as many people do, rely on a cleanse recipe. To learn about one of the more well-known, the "Master Cleanse / Lemonade" diet, visit the Web site devoted to it (see Resources below).
-
Step 4
Consider reviewing the different types of cleanse programs, like the ones rated at InternalCleansing.com (see Resources below). This site will help you find the cleansing routine that best suits both your needs and budget.
-
Step 1
Choose the right diet to accompany your 2-week cleanse if fasting isn't part of your cleanse. The right diet includes organic fruits and vegetables, whole grains, herbal teas, and at least 7 to 10 glasses, each 8 oz., of purified water every day.
-
Step 2
Avoid foods that undermine your cleansing program. Don't eat refined sugar, caffeine, preservatives, artificial colors and flavors, refined carbohydrates and oils or processed meat products. Don't drink alcohol unless you're on the wine fast. (Believe it or not, there truly is a wine fast.)
-
Step 3
Follow your cleanse recipe or the directions that accompany your store-bought cleanse.
-
Step 4
Keep your bowels moving. If your 2-week cleanse includes a partial or total fast, as so many of them do, you'll need to take steps to keep your bowels working. This is necessary not only for your personal comfort, but for the timely release of toxins. You could keep your digestive tract cooperating by giving yourself an enema. Or, you could drink either a tbsp. of olive oil or laxative teas both in the morning and at night.
-
Step 5
Learn more about different cleansing routines at the "Colon Cleansing Zone" (see Resources below).
-
Step 6
Return to your normal habits gradually. It's unwise to break a fast too quickly or binge on unhealthy foods and alcohol right after your cleanse. Your system will be especially sensitive.
