How to Register for eHow

Obviously, you're familiar with eHow, an online database that offers infinite access to valuable "how-to" information and articles pertaining to just about any subject imaginable. By registering for eHow, you can share your knowledge by creating articles and sharing comments. Follow these steps to find out how.

• Compatible Internet browser

Familiarize Yourself With the eHow Web Site

1. Visit the eHow Web site (see Resources below) and browse through available articles like "Personal Care," "Pet Care" and "Travel Information" topics.
2. Use the "Search" field to search through the entire database for articles that interest you. Type a simple term such as "pasta" or "Internet browsers" into the "Search" field. Click the "Search" button. The system will then generate a list of sponsored results and article results for your search term.
3. Check out the "Featured Articles" and "Popular Articles" for exciting information on popular topics for the current season.

Register to Become an eHow Member

4. Visit the eHow home page and click "Register" to begin the registration process (see Resources below).
5. Choose a username and password for your eHow account. Type your selected name in the "Username" field and then click the "Check Availability" tab. You'll be shown whether or not your chosen username is available to use.
6. Enter your personal information such as name, address, birthday, gender and email address in the labeled text boxes.
7. Click the check box if you'd like to receive the "eHow Article of the Day" sent to your email address daily.
8. Review the "Terms of Use and Privacy Policy" conditions for membership and use of the eHow database. Once you have read through the agreement and you are in agreement with the terms outlined, check the "I Have Read And Agree To Terms If Use And Privacy Policy" box.
9. Look over the "Word Verification" code carefully. Type the correct letter and/or number code combination in the "Word Verification" text box. Remember that the verification codes are case-sensitive. Each item must be entered exactly as it appears.

Tips & Warnings

• When selecting a username and password, be sure to use both letters and numbers. Make sure that your information will remain secure.
• When you register to become an eHow member, you're automatically registered as a member to weHow, a sister-site that provides a gathering place for members to share their knowledge with each other by writing and posting articles as well as the ability to respond with comments to fellow members' articles (see Resources below).
