Rate: (2 Ratings)

The main point of Answerbag is to ask interesting and genuine questions. With them, you should provide thoughtful and helpful answers. However, there are different opinions about what's considered thoughtful and helpful. If you find that a response that you feel is offensive, you'll be able to flag it to warn others of the content. Follow these steps to find out how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Email account
  • Computer with Internet access

Become an Answerbag User to Flag Responses

Step1
Register as an Answerbag user by starting at the Answerbag home page to set up a new account (see Resources below).
Step2
Click on the "Register" link and proceed to the Answerbag registration page.
Step3
Come up with an Answerbag nickname you would like to be identified with when you ask and answer questions. Enter an email address and provide a password you will use when you log in.
Step4
Check the box to indicate you are at least 13 years old and agree to the "Answerbag Terms Of Use."

Read Answerbag Responses

Step1
Browse through answers on the Answerbag homepage. Check the "Answer A Question" box or the "New Q & A" list to read a variety of questions and answers.
Step2
Examine the "New Arrivals" section to see what users have most recently asked and answered.
Step3
Read through answers by category. Choose the category and sub-category you're interested in to read questions and answers.

Flag an Offensive Response

Step1
Read the "Answerbag Terms Of Use" to learn what types of responses should be flagged and what kind are allowed.
Step2
Be sure that you're an experienced Answerbag user before you flag responses. ABer's (as they're called) are a close knit group. They'll take offense to answers flagged for the wrong reasons. In addition, if you repeatedly flag responses as offensive, you may lose points if the Answerbag staff disagrees with you multiple times.
Step3
Use the drop down menu that is under every answer to flag a response. Choose from "Duplicate," "Nonsense," "Spam/Offensive" and "Wrong Category" as reasons to flag a response.
Step4
Avoid flagging adult responses in the adult categories. If you're offended by adult material, don't go to the adult categories on Answerbag rather than flagging a response as offensive.

Tips & Warnings

  • Read the "Answerbag Terms Of Use" to understand how flagging works (see Resources below).
  • You can post anonymously on Answerbag to protect your privacy.
  • Be aware that there is adult content in the adult categories on Answerbag.
