Research Medical Tests on Yahoo Health

  1. Step 1

Start at the Yahoo home page (see Resources below). Click on the "More Yahoo Services" link. It's the yellow box midway down the page on the far left-hand side. Then click on the "Health" link in the top part of the box that appears.

  2. Step 2

Use the "Search for a Test" option in the "Medical Drugs and Test" section. Fill in the specific test name or fill in the search field with "test for ....(the name of the condition)." The search will return articles about those tests or conditions.

  3. Step 3

Click on the "Most Searched" medical test links if one of these tests corresponds to the medical condition you're interested in researching. Some commonly searched tests include "Diabetes Tests" and "Depression Tests."

  4. Step 4

Click on the "Diseases and Conditions" tab and research the condition for which you wish to be tested. The article(s) about those conditions will give you information about the types of medical tests associated with that particular condition or disease.

  5. Step 5

Find help with your research on medical tests by clicking Yahoo Health's "Health Help" or "Feedback" options (see Resources below). You'll be directed to choose from a list of common questions or issues. If those answers don't help, you'll have an option to write a short message and ask your specific question.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you know the exact name of the test you need information about, the search will be more accurate. If you don't know the specific name, perform your search using the name of your medical condition and the type of test. Once you hit on the right condition, you can usually backpedal into the information.
  • Don't replace the information you get online with an actual diagnosis and course of treatment from your doctor.
  • Be aware that Yahoo tracks the whereabouts of visitors among the various Yahoo Web sites. They report information about who visits what types of Web sites or requests what kind of information in order to fine-tune their targeting strategies.
