Step 1
Go to the Yahoo Web site (see Resources below). Find the log-in area and click on the link that says 'Sign Up.'

Type your name and other required information into the fields provided.

Think of a user ID that will identify you to all email and Instant Message recipients. People often opt for some variation of their name, but if you plan to use your Yahoo account to chat with strangers, it might be safer to stick with your first name or create another username. When you are ready, type your username into the field provided.

Type in a password that is, at a minimum, 6 characters long.

Select a security question from the list provided. Make sure that you choose a question that you will be able to remember the answer to later. Among other verifying information, Yahoo will ask you this security question if you forget your password and need to gain access to your Yahoo account.

Enter your birth date, postal code and any other requested information, then click on 'I Agree' after carefully reading the license agreement. You have successfully completed the process of creating your own Yahoo account. You can use your account to send and receive emails, utilize Yahoo Instant Messenger, and gain access to Yahoo Music, Finance and numerous other tools and services.
