Yahoo Music gives you access to music from virtually every genre, putting thousands of artists and songs at your fingertips. With a few clicks of the mouse, your favorite music is available for you to download, sample and buy. Fortunately, if you don't always want to sit in front of your computer to listen to your music, Yahoo Music allows you to transfer music to your favorite MP3 players.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Yahoo Music account
  • Computer
  • Yahoo Music Jukebox

Transfer Music to Your Portable MP3 Player

  1. Step 1

Go to the Yahoo Music home page and launch Yahoo Music Jukebox (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

Verify that your MP3 player is compatible with Yahoo Music Unlimited To Go (see Resources below).

  3. Step 3

Connect your portable MP3 player to your computer and turn it on. Wait for the computer to recognize it's connected before proceeding.

  4. Step 4

Click and drag a playlist from Yahoo Music Jukebox and drop it over the portable MP3 player's pane. This will automatically transfer all of the songs in the playlist to your device.

  5. Step 5

Drag and drop songs onto the 'Now Playing' pane, then click 'Action' followed by 'Transfer to Portable' as an alternative to using the playlist method.

  6. Step 6

Drag and drop music directly from your 'My Music' list into the MP3 players you've connected. You can drag whole artist libraries and albums in this manner.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be as detailed as possible when describing your music using Yahoo Music Jukebox. While the Yahoo Music servers actually store a lot of detailed information that is uploaded into your application, you might still want to add a few more parameters.
  • If Yahoo Music Jukebox isn't working properly, there may be a software conflict with another program on your computer. Head to the Yahoo Music Help page to find out how to address such issues (see Resources below).
  • Be aware that the Apple iPod is not currently compatible with Yahoo Music. You will need to use iTunes in order to take advantage of an iPod if you own one.
  • Be careful when choosing larger playlists or whole libraries that you don't run out of space on your portable device. It's a good idea to delete music from your device before adding new playlists unless it has a very large amount of memory.
