Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Yahoo Music Jukebox
  • Computer
  • Yahoo account

Create Playlists for Yahoo Music Jukebox

  1. Step 1

Start the Yahoo Music Jukebox by clicking on your desktop shortcut icon or by clicking on its link in the Start Menu. If you haven't already done so, then you'll need to download and install Yahoo Music Jukebox from the Yahoo Music Web site (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

Click the 'My Music' link in the navigation pane to open a list of albums. You can sort your music by song, artist, genre and more by clicking the 'Browse By' link and changing the sort parameters.

  3. Step 3

Click on the name of a song to play it, or simply right click it to bring up the context menu.

  4. Step 4

Scroll your mouse over the 'Add to...' menu option in the right click context menu and click 'A Playlist.'

  5. Step 5

Choose to add your song choice to a new playlist you are about to create by highlighting the 'Add to a New Playlist' button.

  6. Step 6

Give the playlist you're creating a name and press the 'OK' button. You can also cancel at this time if you've chosen the wrong song or changed your mind.

  7. Step 7

Add songs to this or other playlists from songs throughout your collection using the same steps.

  8. Step 8

Create new playlists from scratch by opening the 'File' menu and clicking on the 'Create a New Playlist' menu option. This will place a new playlist in the list and give you the chance to name it right away.

Tips & Warnings
  • Clearly label your playlists so that they're easier to decipher when you go back to them. It's easier to remember the kinds of music in playlists labeled 'Early Motown' or '80s Hair Bands' than it is in playlists labeled 'Good Stuff' or 'Various Singers.'
  • If your playlists aren't working or Yahoo Music is not playing correctly, then head to Yahoo Answers to see whether there are tips or fixes (see Resources below).
  • If you're planning on burning your playlists to CDs at a later time, pay attention to the total running time you make them. Playlists longer than 80 minutes are too long and won't be able to transfer in their entirety to the CD.
  • Protect your music from piracy by keeping your account information a secret and use a random password consisting of both letters and numbers.
