Listening to your music with your computer is a great way to get work done and keep yourself upbeat and entertained at the same time. Yahoo Music Jukebox is a terrific tool for storing, organizing and playing all of your favorite songs. Best of all, you can import your CDs from your collection to play on your computer whenever and wherever you want.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Music CDs
  • Yahoo Music Jukebox
  • Computer
  • Yahoo account

Import CDs to Yahoo Music Jukebox

Step1
Turn on Yahoo Music Jukebox from your computer's Start Menu or by using the desktop shortcut icon. If you haven't done so already, download Yahoo Music Jukebox from Yahoo Music or the Yahoo home page (see Resources below).
Step2
Place a music CD in your CD drive. It's okay if you only have a DVD drive, since the DVD drive can play your CDs just as easily.
Step3
Click the 'Import' button when your CD loads and begins to play. Your music will continue to play, so you can listen while Yahoo Music Jukebox performs the import task.
Step4
Label your CD in the window that pops up. If you're connected to the Internet then there is a chance this step will not be needed, since the disc will get pre-labeled using the Yahoo Music Jukebox server.
Step5
Leave the disc in the drive until the import task has completed. This will prevent file corruptions of the songs you are trying to import.
Step6
Double-check that the import worked by removing the CD and playing it from the hard drive. You can delete the tracks right from Yahoo Music Jukebox if you need to, and you can start over using the first step.

Tips & Warnings

  • Input all of the information about your CDs at the time you import them. If you're not connected to the Internet, then there's the chance that your CD's name as well as the names of all of the tracks will end up being labeled 'Unknown.'
  • Be aware that it's illegal to import CDs to your computer for the purpose of redistribution. Piracy is punishable by a prison sentence as well as heavy fines.
  • Yahoo Music Jukebox does not support the Apple iPod, but it does support other portable media players. Check with Yahoo Music to determine which players are currently compatible.
  • If you're having trouble syncing your music then head to Yahoo Answers for help (see Resources below).
