We all need to keep our daily lives organized if we want to be as productive as possible. A terrific way to keep your life in order is to use Yahoo Calendar, a free service to Yahoo members that integrates easily into existing calendars.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Computer
  • Yahoo account

    Put Yahoo Calendar to Use

  1. Step 1

Sign in to Yahoo by entering your login information in the 'Sign In' section of the Yahoo homepage (see Resources below). You'll need to click the 'Sign Up' link if you're new to Yahoo.

  2. Step 2

Click the 'Mail' link. This will lead you to your productivity section of Yahoo and allow you to access your contacts as well as your calendar.

  3. Step 3

Click on the 'Calendar' tab or link. Either will send you to your calendar.

  4. Step 4

Click the 'Add Event' link to reserve a time slot for an appointment, meeting or important event. This is the primary way in which you'll manage your time while using Yahoo Calendar.

  5. Step 5

Enter all of your necessary event information: time, date, description, number of recurring meetings and alerts. When you're done, click 'Save' to list the event in your calendar and move on, or click 'Save and Add Another' if you need to create additional events.

  6. Step 6

Click 'Add Task' to set up a To-Do List.

  7. Step 7

Enter the details of your task into the information page, noting the due date as well as any pertinent notes of which you'll want to keep track.

  8. Step 8

Click the 'Save' button once the details of your task are entered, or click 'Save and Add Another' if you plan on entering multiple tasks at once.

  9. Step 9

Click on the 'Day,' 'Month' and 'Year' tabs to change the Yahoo Calendar view. This makes it easier to see future appointments without having to click link after link to reach the day you need.

  10. Step 10

Use the 'Add' link on any specific day in the 'Month' view to add an event or task for that specific day.

Tips & Warnings
  • Download Yahoo's Intellisync software to sync your Yahoo Calendar to your other organization suite. Applications like Outlook, ACT! and Lotus Organizer can all be synced to Yahoo Calendar.
  • If you're still having problems using Yahoo Calendar, visit the Yahoo Answers section of Yahoo to get answers to specific questions (see Resources below).
  • If you'll be accessing your Yahoo calendar from a machine at a library, computer lab, Internet cafe or other public center, be sure to sign out of your account and close your browser when you're finished. Strangers can easily view your comings and goings simply by clicking through your browser's history.
