How to Make Yahoo Faces

Yahoo faces, also known as avatars, are fun cartoon depictions of yourself to display with your profile or when chatting with friends online. Yahoo faces are fun, easy and free to make. They can be changed at any time. Just use Yahoo's user-friendly Web site to get started.

Navigate Yahoo Pages

1. Visit Yahoo's home page (see Resources below). You will be asked to log in to your account. If you do not already have a Yahoo account, you'll need to create one before you can make Yahoo faces. Do this by clicking 'Sign Up.'

2. Visit the Yahoo Avatars page to get started (see Resources below).

3. Select the gender of your avatar and click on 'Create My Avatar.'

Design Your Avatar

1. Start your avatar by clicking on the 'Appearance' tab and choosing the faces that best match your own. You can select an eye color by clicking on one of the colored boxes to the right of the faces you choose. When you click on the faces you like, they will appear in the preview box to the left.

2. Click on 'Hairstyles' at the top of the 'Appearance' page to choose a hairstyle for your face. You can choose something close to your own hairstyle or go wild. You can change your hair color by clicking one of the colored boxes next to the picture.

3. Choose apparel, accessories and backgrounds the same way, by clicking on the appropriate tabs and selecting the styles you like. If at any time you want to remove an item that you have added to your avatar, uncheck the appropriate box under the 'What I'm Trying On' section of the preview box.

4. Select 'Save Changes' in the preview box to complete your avatar. You have now customized your Yahoo face!

Get Your Faces Out There

1. Share your Yahoo face with others by using the 'Display Image' tool in Yahoo Messenger. You can also easily add your faces to your profile to share with others on Yahoo message boards and Yahoo Games.

2. Change it up. Yahoo faces are built to change with your moods. If you get a new haircut, don't forget to give your avatar a new style. Your avatar's outfits should change with the seasons, just like yours.

3. Have fun. Yahoo avatars are one of the entertaining features that allow you to make your own identity on the Web.
