How to Boot People out of Yahoo Chat
It needs to be understood that booting people out of Yahoo chat is considered incredibly inconsiderate and potentially illegal. That said, there are times when people are simply not being respectful of the rest of the guests of a chat, whether by talking over others in voice chat or by playing music in the background when sound is not permitted in the room.
Things You'll Need
- Internet access
- Host privileges or a third-party boot program
- Yahoo Messenger
- Computer

Boot Someone From Yahoo Chat
-
1
Head to the Yahoo homepage and sign in using your account log-in information (see Resources below). Start Yahoo Messenger either by booting your system, selecting it from the Start Menu or by clicking on the 'Messenger' link on the homepage.
-
2
Log in to your Yahoo Messenger account by using your log-in information (username and password).
-
-
3
Start your boot program from whichever directory it is located. Each boot program is different, and some actually load when you start your PC, so it may already be running.
-
4
Highlight the Messenger menu bar. Click the 'Join Chat Room' menu option. This will bring up a list of chat rooms currently in use, as well as a display of the number of people currently in the room.
-
5
Choose the chat room you wish to enter and wait for it to load. Once you are in the chat room you will see the complete list by name of the people currently present.
-
6
Highlight a member of the chat room you wish to boot out of the chat and select 'Send IM.' This will open an instant message window. This is the most common starting point for third-party boot programs.
-
7
Use your boot program to send people an infinite stream of instant messages. This causes the other user's chat window to overflow and crash, thereby booting her from the room. It also closes the IM window as well.

Tips & Warnings
There are other options available to you if you are aggravated by another member of the Yahoo chat and want to boot him out. The most effective tool is to use the 'Ignore User' option in the chat or instant messaging window. You can also report the user to the Yahoo administrators who can then monitor him for abuse of the Terms and Conditions set forth by Yahoo.
If you need more information about chat rooms and instant messaging, use Yahoo Help (see Resources below).
Be very careful about using boot programs. They are not permitted by Yahoo, as they are considered a breach of privacy and security. Using them can result in your own banning from the Yahoo community. Use boot programs at your own risk.
