How to Access Yahoo Email

There are few people today who can survive without email. Many of us rely on it, both for personal and business communications. Yahoo offers a popular email service with tons of features that help make keeping in touch easier than ever. Most importantly, Yahoo email is easy to use and access no matter where you are.

Create a Yahoo Email Account

1. Begin by going to Yahoo's main Web site (see Resources below).

2. Click on 'Mail' or on 'Sign Up' to be linked to the account creation page. You'll be asked to fill out your personal information as well as choose an email/screen name.

3. Read the Terms and Conditions, as well as the Privacy Policy, and then confirm your account's creation. You will be sent directly to your email account's page so you can familiarize yourself with the server.

Access the Yahoo Mail Account You've Created

4. Head to the Yahoo homepage or directly to the Yahoo Mail server (see Resources below) to log in.

5. Enter your log-in information in the appropriate text fields and then click 'Sign In.' You can also select the 'Keep Me Signed In' box if you're working on a secure computer and don't want to repeat this step every time you head to Yahoo Mail.

6. Click the 'Forgot Password?' link if you can't remember your password. This will open a new page that gives you options for retrieving or resetting your password.

7. Click the 'Inbox' link from the navigation pane to explore and access all of your received emails.

8. Click the 'Contacts' link in the navigation pane to see a list of all the email addresses that Yahoo has stored. From here you can easily select people to communicate with as well as send mass emails without having to send them multiple times.

Tips & Warnings

• Double-check your spam box every few days to ensure important emails aren't flagged incorrectly. Spam filters are powerful, but not foolproof.
• Update your address book whenever an email comes in from an address you'd like to keep.
