Book Train Travel From Perth to Northam

Step1
Visit the TransWa Web site (see Resources below). Look to the 'Trip Planner' and fill it in with the details of your desired trip. If you would prefer to book by phone, the sales office is available within Australia at 1-300-662-205, or internationally at +011 61 8 9326 2600.
Step2
Fill in your personal information as it is requested. You'll need to give your name, email and phone number before you can go forward. You will not be asked for your credit card information until it is time to pay for your tickets.
Step3
Get yourself to your departure station approximately one hour early. Passengers leaving out of East Perth need to go to the East Perth Terminal on Summer Street, while those leaving from Midland will be at Midland Major Station on the corner of Victoria and Helena Streets.

Tips & Warnings

  • Even when you select 'Perth' as your departure city, the Web site may offer you 'Midland' as a choice. Midland is a short taxi ride from Perth, less than 15 miles east of the center of the city.
  • The Transwa Web site is quick, safe and easy. Don't worry about calculating time zones and making expensive international calls. Book online and save the trouble.
  • Double-check the exchange rates before you book your tickets, as all prices will be in Australian dollars. Tickets are inexpensive.
  • The trip from Perth to Northam is more of a commuter train than a long distance one, so if you are planning to return to Perth, consider storing some of your luggage and traveling light.
  • Depending on the day of the week, there can be between one and four trains leaving Perth for Northam. However, they can and do get sold out, so book your travel as soon as possible.
