Tips & Warnings

  • Book online to take advantage of group sales discounts.
  • If you are interested in further train travel within Australia, it may be cheaper for you to purchase a FlexiPass. Call the sales office of Great Southern Railway to explore your best fiscal options.
  • All prices for the train tickets are in Australian dollars, which are less valuable than the U.S. dollar. Check the current exchange rate to find out exactly what you're paying.
  • The Gold Kangaroo service, though more expensive, is considerably more comfortable and equipped.
  • Because you have to switch trains, there is a chance you will have to spend a night in Adelaide. Investigate arrival and departure times, and make the appropriate preparations.
