How to Draw Bubble Letters

Making a birthday card or a sign? Bubble letters will give your creation a new look and you’ll have fun in the meantime. It doesn’t take long to learn how to draw bubble letters, and once you know how to do it, the creative possibilities are endless!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paper
  • Pencil and markers
  1. Step 1

    Choose a letter.

  2. Step 2

    Print the letter on a sheet of paper using a light pencil line.

  3. Step 3

    Go to the top of the letter and put your pencil point about one-fourth of an inch away from the letter.

  4. Step 4

    Begin to go around the letter (outline) using a rounded line (no corners). Keep your outline about the same distance from the pencil letter as you outline the letter.

  5. Step 5

    Do this outline the letter over and over until the letter is as big as you want.

  6. Step 6

    Then erase all of the other lines, including the first letter you drew.

  7. Step 7

    Trace your new outline with a marker. You may want to color the outline in.

  8. Step 8

    Practice with all the letters of the alphabet.

  9. Step 9

    Once you can draw bubble letters easily, be creative with colors and patterns.

Tips & Warnings
  • Bubble letters have no corners.
  • After you create the bubble outline, you will have to fill in openings for the some of the letters, such as a, b, B, d, and D.
