No matter whom you're meeting, a reunion is sure to be a fun time of catching up with friends and loved ones. However, organizing a reunion is not always easy. If you're in charge of organizing a reunion at the park, the following steps can help the process go more smoothly.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Hotel reservations
  • A place to hold the reunion
  • Caterers
  • Decorations
  • Invitations
  • Seating and tables
  • Entertainment
Step1
Choose a park for your reunion. This might be somewhere near your homes, a park you've visited in the past, or simply somewhere you've always wanted to visit.
Step2
Book a hotel or hall near the park for a reunion party. It is best to choose an indoor location in case it rains, although having an outdoor terrace or path to the park may also be a great idea.
Step3
Call neighboring hotels in a variety of price ranges to block off rooms for reunion-goers.
Step4
Send out invitations asking people to RSVP by a certain date. Include the hotel information.
Step5
Plan park activities in which reunion-goers may or may not want to participate. This can include things like picnics and playing games.
Step6
Hire entertainment for the reunion night, such as a live band or a D.J.
Step7
Once the RSVP date has passed, hire a caterer for the reunion. You may also want to hire a bartender.
Step8
Rent seating, tables, and decorations as needed.
Step9
Arrive a day early to set up for the reunion.

Tips & Warnings

  • Appoint a committee to help you do the work.
  • Hand off organizational responsibilities every year so that you don't end up with the bulk of the responsibility every time.
  • Make sure to plan activities for rainy or cold weather.

on 4/7/2008 We had our family reunion in a park. One of the problems...available tables were a little unsightly, to put it kindly. I purchased table linens from http://www.linentablecloth.com, both the full cloth and a topper. I printed our family crest on transfers (a computer finally served a useful purpose to me) and ironed them onto the corners of my topper. After the party, I gave each family group one of the ensembles as a souvenir gift. It looked lovely.
