Things You'll Need:
- Sony laptop
- Software CDs
- PCMCIA sound card

Step 1
Locate the PCMCIA slot on the side of your Sony laptop.

Remove the dummy card from the slot by depressing the card-release latch and pulling the dummy card out.

Open the protective packaging for your new sound card.

Step 4
Insert the new sound card into the card slot with the front label facing up.

Step 5
Press the card firmly into place, but do not force it. The “Remove Hardware Safely” icon will appear in the system tray.

Step 6
Install drivers and software from the manufacturer's CD if necessary.
