How to Save Music Data on the PSP

The Memory Stick Duo that comes with your Sony PSP can be used to store music, videos and photos as well as saved game data. If you have a wireless network connection, you can download music files from the Internet and save them directly to the Memory Stick on your PSP.

      Connect to the Internet using the PSP Web browser.

      Go to the official PSP Web site and sign in using your email address and password. If you have not created an account, you'll need to do so in order to download music and other files.

      Click the "Media & Downloads" tab on the navigation bar.

      Check the boxes labeled "PSP" and "Music" to locate music files.

      Click "Add to My Media" when you find a music file you want to download.

      Choose to save the file to the "Music" folder on your Memory Stick.

      Choose the "Save" options then press "X" to save the file.

      Press the circle button to return to the Web site when the download is finished.

Tips & Warnings

  • Music must be in MP3 or ATRAC3plus format to play on the PSP. They'll be in this format when you download them from the official Web site, but you must make sure that the files you download are PSP-supported when downloading from other sites.
