How to Play Syndicated Audio With Your PSP

Using your PSP, you can view and listen to several different types of media, including syndicated audio such as podcasts. You’ll need iTunes or another podcast download application installed on your PC, plus a USB cable to connect your PSP and your computer.

Things You'll Need:

  • PC with iTunes installed
  • Memory Stick Duo
  • Sony PSP
  1. Step 1

    Install a podcast client on your PC if you don’t already have one. See the Resources section for a link to iTunes, one of the most popular free podcast applications.

  2. Step 2

    Once you have iTunes installed, you can start finding podcasts to download. The download instructions will vary widely for individual Web sites.

  3. Step 3

    When you have downloaded a podcast you want to listen to, use a USB cable to connect your PC and PSP.

  4. Step 4

    Choose “Tools” in the “Settings” menu of the Home page on your PSP.

  5. Step 5

    Press button “X” then wait while your computer detects the PSP connection.

  6. Step 6

    Save the audio files in the “MUSIC” folder of your Memory Stick Duo.

  7. Step 7

    To play the podcast on your PSP, select the Music icon from the Home menu, select the Memory Stick icon then press "X" to select and playback the podcast.

Tips & Warnings
  • Audio files must be in MP3 or ATRA3plus format to play on the PSP.
  • Some podcasts are not free. Make sure you know whether you have to pay before you sign up to podcast sites.
