How to Find the Current Time

It can be disorienting to not know what time it is. If your usual timepiece isn't working, use one of the following methods to find the time.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Look for a bank marquee that displays the time or turn on the television or the radio.

  2. Step 2

    Check the official U.S. Time Web site or the World Clock Web site (see Resources below).

  3. Step 3

    Look in the front of your phone book. Most local phone companies have a time and temperature service that will play the current time and temperature.

Tips & Warnings
  • Atomic clocks are the most accurate way to keep time. You can buy a clock that will automatically synchronize to an atomic clock at any electronics store.
