1. Consider your girlfriend's working environment. For example, if she is a teacher, make sure your plans are appropriate for children to witness. If she works with clients, arrange a professional proposal that will not jeopardize her business. Do not schedule the proposal to arrive in the midst of an important business meeting.
2. Decide if you need the help of anyone at her office. If so and you do not know anyone, the best person is probably her supervisor. You are going to need a supervisor's approval, as the proposal is likely to disrupt work.
3. Pick someone to deliver the proposal. You can write the proposal on a card and hide it in a pizza box or lunch bag or clip it to a dozen roses. Have the item placed on her desk.
4. Arrange to be on the premises during the delivery. Then you can walk in with the ring.
