Things You'll Need:
- Internet access
-
Step 1
Get out your phone book and look in the Yellow Pages. Call several cosmetic surgeons and get information from them firsthand. Make interview appointments with any you find interesting. You may also consider calling the local Better Business Bureau for information.
-
Step 2
Search for cosmetic surgeons online (see Resources below). Be sure to search reputable Web sites only.
-
Step 3
Make appointments with several cosmetic surgeons and interview them yourself. Find out what each thinks he or she can do for you, how much each charges, and anything else that is important to you. Ask to see pictures of surgeries each has performed. Take notes so you can compare the information and use it to make your choice.
-
Step 4
Talk to friends or family members who have had cosmetic surgery. Ask if they liked their surgeon and thought they had a good experience. Determine whether their surgeon should be on your contact list.
-
Step 5
Ask for referrals from your regular physician. Your doctor may have a colleague in plastic surgery whose work he or she knows and admires.
