Defend a Direct Kick with a Wall
Defend a Direct Kick with a Wall

I would like to share the technique for defending your goal from a direct kick. Using the wall will cut off the kicker's angle and decrease his/her chances of a shot on goal.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose four to six of your biggest teammates to construct your wall.

  2. Step 2

If the wall is far from your goal, you should use a 2 or 3 person wall. Use more teammates, as the direct kick is placed closer to the goal.

  3. Step 3

Instruct your wall to "assume the position". The "position" is to stand shoulder to shoulder with legs together and hands together over the groin (for obvious reasons).

  4. Step 4

Line up your outermost player in your wall so he/she is in a straight line with the ball and the nearest goal post.

  5. Step 5

Instruct your wall not to close their eyes, turn their heads, or jump when the ball is kicked. Be sure the male players in your wall cross their hands over their groins to protect themselves. That ball will be coming at them fast!

Tips & Warnings
  • It may be best to have teammates chosen before the game just in case you need a wall.
