3. Pick out and purchase the ring.

4. Put the ring in a secure location where your girlfriend will not find it.

5. Decide how you will propose. Will you pull the ring out of your pocket in keeping with tradition, will you hide the ring in something for her to find, or will you come up with your own creative idea altogether?

6. Write out what you would like to say and review it. However, when it is time to propose, do not worry if you forget what you practiced. Just speak from the heart and she will hear every word loud and clear.
