When considering proposing to a girlfriend, many men are worried that they will not be able to carry out the perfect proposal their girlfriend expects. If you do not try to be anyone other than yourself, you do not have anything to worry about. Your girlfriend (hopefully) loves you for the unique person you are and does not want you to be anyone else.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take some time to reflect on your own personality.

  2. Step 2

Think about the preconceived notions you have in your head about a marriage proposal. Take aspects that incorporate your personality and toss the rest.

  3. Step 3

Consider asking your friends to help you set up the proposal. Often, talking to other people can help you see things in yourself you wouldn't ordinarily consider.

  4. Step 4

Consider traveling to a location where you had your first date, first kiss, or other memorable event in your dating life.

  5. Step 5

If you have a pet you adore, enlist his or her help. Tying the ring to a dog's collar for her to discover can be fun and creative.

  6. Step 6

Just remember to keep your intended spouse's comfort level in mind. If she hates having any attention drawn to herself, for instance, stay away from public engagement announcements no matter how much you love to be the center of attention.
