How to Propose in a jewelry shop

Proposing in a jewelry shop certainly has its advantages. You will be surrounded by all manner of glittering diamonds and you will be able to let your girlfriend pick her own ring. If you would like to propose in a jewelry shop, follow these steps.

1. Speak with the manger of the jewelry shop and ask for permission to propose in the establishment.
   
2. Discuss a date and a time with the manager and make sure the details are written down on the manager's calendar so that he or she does not forget.
   
3. Decide on a price range for the ring. Ask for all rings in that price range to be in a specific case so that your girlfriend can pick the one she would like from a certain area. This step will avoid any potentially awkward and embarrassing situations that could arise if she chooses a ring beyond your means.
   
4. Rent and watch the proposal in the movie “Sweet Home Alabama” with Reese Witherspoon.
   
5. Devise a cover for getting your girlfriend to the jewelry shop. You may need to enlist the help of a friend or family member for this step (just be sure you ask for help from someone who can keep a secret).
   
6. If you have someone helping you, talk about some code words you could use if you need to communicate by cell phone. For instance, discuss a code word the friend could use if he or she needs to call you to tell you that your girlfriend will be late or early.
   
7. Arrive at the jewelry store about fifteen minutes before your girlfriend is scheduled to arrive.
   
8. Find a good hiding spot so that you can make an entrance rather than being noticed as soon as she walks in the door.
   
9. When proposing, say what is on your heart and then lead her to section of rings for her to choose.
