Convert a Recipe into a eHow Article

Using a recipe as an outline for an eHow article is a simple and easy process--and a great way to overcome the proverbial writer’s block. Once your recipe has been converted to an eHow, it is instantly ready to share with your friends and family, not to mention the entire eHow community. So share a piece of your world by letting us into your kitchen with a recipe that raises the bar for how to bake the very best black Russian cake.

So start writing now!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Your own recipe
  1. Step 1

Describe the dish you wish to share. Is it a succulent roast, a healthy salad or sinful dessert? Include what makes the recipe worth sharing. People love to know if it's a family recipe that has been passed down generation after generation or if it is a recipe that people can't stop asking you for.

  2. Step 2

List the ingredients under "What You'll Need." This is essential to the article because it serves as a check list for people when they are shopping or preparing to cook.

  3. Step 3

Break down the steps from start to completion with preparation and cooking time included. Be very specific, yet simple, when describing how things should look and taste.

  4. Step 4

Include pictures whenever possible. People always think half way through preparing the dish that, "this doesn't look right." So the more photos you have, the more guidance and assurance you will be providing people.

  5. Step 5

Use your own words when writing out the instructions. This will save you from breaking copyright laws (if you are using a recipe that comes from a book)-–always a good thing. It will also give you a chance to inject your personality into the recipe.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always include extra tips and ingredients that can help a recipe taste better. People always have different variations on classic recipes, and you may know of something worth mentioning.
