How to Promote Your Podcast on Forums

Promoting your podcast takes some effort in order to get your name out there and get people interested. Forums and discussion boards are a good place to target a lot of eyes that are specifically interested in particular topics that your podcast is all about.

1. Step back and think about who would be interested in your topic. Then target certain groups on the web. You can do it by location, you can do it by interest, you can do it by demographic. Likely, there will be multiple options that you can cater to.
2. Read through the forums and see if there are specific topics that your podcast would be helpful for. Perhaps one of your episodes goes more in detail about a question someone is asking. You can answer questions or direct them to your podcast for help.
3. A more effort-less way is to just include your website or icon in your signature. That way, every time you comment, you are displaying your information. Ask questions; post useful information. If you post helpful content, people may check out your website or podcast for more.
4. If you're very ambitious, you can analyze the forum, pick out active members and collaborate on something together. The more people you incorporate, especially if these people have networks of their own, the more potential to expand your own network of listeners. Plus, if you find the right collaborators, it would likely provide for interesting, substantial content.

• While you're in the forums, you might as well do research and see what people are talking about. This type of knowledge is always helpful when you are recording a podcast and creating a product for an audience.
• Don't be excessive, and don't write like it's spam. People have their radars up and can see through it.
