How to Enable Auto Login in Any Windows Operating System

All Windows operating systems (OS) let you skip the welcome screen and directly login to the desktop. Follow these steps to enable auto login in any Windows operating system.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Windows operating system and Internet access
  1. Step 1

    Click on the Windows start button. Select the ‘'Control Panel'’ option. The screen will then show various folders in the control panel.

  2. Step 2

    Click on the ‘'User Accounts'’ button twice. The screen will display 3 ‘'Pick a Task'’ options under the User Accounts dialog box.

  3. Step 3

    Choose the ‘'Change the way users log on or off" option. The screen will display logon and logoff options: ‘'Use the welcome screen" and ‘'Use Fast User switching."

  4. Step 4

    Click to check the ‘'Use the welcome screen" option.

  5. Step 5

    Click on the ‘'Apply" options. Your auto login will be activated.
