LiveJournal is a free user-friendly communication Web site that allows you to connect with friends online. You can keep a journal, diary or blog through LiveJournal to create a social network online. Follow these easy steps to create a group in LiveJournal.

  • Internet connection
  • Computer
Step1
Go online and call up LiveJournal (see Resources below).
Step2
Create a new account if you don't have one. If you are a returning user, just enter your username and password in the fields at the top right of the main page.
Step3
Select "Friends" from the main menu. To create a new group, click on "New" below the window of group names. Pick a name for your new group (up to 30 characters).
Step4
Pick a name for your new group. LiveJournal allows users up to 30 characters to name their groups.
Step5
Add friends or invite them to join your newly-created group.
Step6
Change the order of your groups by selecting a group and clicking on the "Move Up" or "Move Down" buttons.
Step7
Let other people view your friends in the group by clicking the "Public" button. If you want to allow visitors to only view your friends' entries (and not your entire list of friends) select the "Default View" option.

Tips & Warnings

  • This communication Web site also offers a paid membership with additional features such as different styles and "Userpics."
  • Never create a new group by renaming an existing group.
