AbiWord is a free word processor program that allows users to create various documents that can include formatted lists. Supported by Linux, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, ReactOS and BeOS operating systems, it's similar to Microsoft Word with some twists. Follow these steps to add or remove items or reformat an entire list in AbiWord.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open your file and determine what you want to modify.

  2. Step 2

To make a change such as adding new items to an existing list, place the cursor where you want the addition to appear.

  3. Step 3

Press "Enter" to add a new line, and then add the item. If the list is numbered, AbiWord will automatically adjust the numbers of the subsequent items in the list.

  4. Step 4

Add bullets or numbers to the entries by highlighting the entire list and then clicking on the appropriate icon. Do the same to remove bullets or numbers from the list.

  5. Step 5

Change a numbered list to a bulleted list (or vice versa) by highlighting the entire list, clicking on the "Number" icon to remove the formatting, and clicking on the "Bullet" icon to implement the new format.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can format your list without using the icons by highlighting the list, and then going to the "Format" menu to choose "Bullets and Numbering." Select the option you want and click "Apply" or "OK."
