How to Restore Old Photographs

Photographs can be lost due to improper care and environmental damage causing them to become faded, scratched or torn. Restoring, preserving and digitizing old photographs can save them for future generations.

Things You’ll Need:

• Old photograph you want to restore
• Computer with scanner
• Image editing software
• Laser printer using photo paper

1. Place the old photograph into the scanner, and scan it into your computer.
2. Use your selected image software to edit scratches, dirt, or correct color fading.
3. Save a digital copy of the edited photo onto your computer.
4. Print a new copy of the restored photograph on a laser printer using photo paper.
