Most new printer models allow you to perform a simple test of printer’s performance. This can help you troubleshoot simple problems such as determining whether you need to recalibrate your printer.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • Epson Laser Printer
  • Printer paper
  • Printer ink cartridge

Step1
Turn on your computer and printer.
Step2
Click "Start" on your WIndows taskbar.
Step3
Choose "Control Panel" then "Printers and other Hardware".
Step4
Click "View Installed Printers".
Step5
Right click on the Epson laser printer icon.
Step6
Click "Print Test Page" to start the self-test.

Tips & Warnings

  • Perform a self-test each time you install a new ink cartridge, or when your print quality is low.
  • The self-test will not work well if the printer ink levels are low.
