How to Start a New Discussion on Wikipedia

At the top of every page on Wikipedia, there is an option to talk about and discuss the page and topic. You can discuss a variety of things including edits to the page or what types of content you think should be included there.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

• A Wikipedia account
• A computer with Internet access

1. Look at the top or left hand side of the page you are on.
2. Click on the link that says “Talk,” “Discussion” or “Discuss this page.”
3. Enter in your new discussion on the topic, making sure to follow the discussion guidelines on the page.
4. Click “Save” to add your comments.
   

Tips & Warnings

• When someone edits your user talk page, you will receive an alert “You have new messages” on all pages that you view until you view your user page.
