Your wedding day is one of the most special days of your life and one you will remember forever. As you look back at the photos of your wedding ceremony, you don't want to have to double check that the pictures are of your ceremony and not samples from the bridal expo. The best way to ensure your wedding will not be confused with someone else's is to personalize your wedding ceremony.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stay away from the more traditional church ceremony. Most wedding ceremonies are held in a church. The easiest way to personalize your wedding ceremony is to have your wedding ceremony at a less traditional location. This could be anywhere. You could have the ceremony on the beach, while skydiving or at a bowling alley. The possibilities are endless.

  2. Step 2

Use non-traditional music as you and your wedding party walk down the aisle. A staple of most weddings is The Wedding March which is played as the bride walks down the aisle. A sure-fire way to personalize your wedding ceremony is to play non-traditional music.

  3. Step 3

Change things up a bit by using a pet as your ring bearer. If you have a pet that is well trained and is not easily distracted, you could have the pet bring the ring down the aisle. People have used pets in wedding ceremonies to give the bride away as well.

  4. Step 4

Involve the wedding ceremony guests in the ceremony for something different. If you want to make your wedding ceremony more personalized, you could choose to have your wedding guests repeat certain lines or light candles. Guest involvement is sure to make your wedding ceremony more personalized and memorable.

  5. Step 5

Wear non-traditional clothing to personalize your wedding ceremony. If you want to make your wedding ceremony more personalized, you can shy away from the traditional wedding dress and tuxedos. There are no rules as to what you can wear. People have gotten married in everything from Medieval clothing to their birthday suits.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you choose to go with less traditional wedding music, try to keep the music you choose light. It may not be a good idea to walk down the aisle to "Cannibal Corpse."
  • If you choose a less traditional location for your wedding ceremony, make sure it is large enough to accommodate your wedding guests.
  • Be cautious when using pets in your wedding ceremony. Even the best-behaved pet can go crazy with all the attention they will receive.
  • Don't be offensive when you personalize your wedding ceremony. While you may love the idea of a nude ceremony, your guests may not be as pleased with all the natural beauty.
