Understand the Use of Urine Therapy to Treat Cancer

  1. Step 1

Recognize that many people turn to alternative treatments, such as urine therapy, when conventional cancer treatments fail.

  2. Step 2

Understand that proponents of urine therapy consider urine to be antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal and anticancer.

  3. Step 3

Know that uropaths believe urine contains antineoplastin, which is thought to inhibit the growth of cancerous cells.

  4. Step 4

Realize that urine contains urea, which is thought to inhibit the grouping together of cancer cells.

  5. Step 5

Read more studies about the effectiveness of urine therapy to treat skin, liver, breast and other types of cancer at Vanderbilt University's Health Psychology Web page (see Resources below).

  6. Learn about Methods of Urine Therapy for Cancer Treatment

  7. Step 1

Know that the recommended protocol for cancer treatment may include a urine fast.

  8. Step 2

Clean the genital area and collect the first urine of the day in a sterile container to begin the fast.

  9. Step 3

Drink all the urine passed and increase water intake during the fast for a fluid intake of about 5 liters. Include limited amounts of fresh vegetables and fruits to complete the fasting diet.

  10. Step 4

Monitor urine during fast with pH paper for acidity and alkalinity.

  11. Step 5

Know that external massage of urine is thought to remove or reduce some types of tumors.

  12. Step 6

Prepare for urine massage by collecting sterile urine in a dark glass container and holding for 4 to 8 days.

  13. Step 7

Massage urine onto skin over the affected area. Leave the urine on at least an hour and then wash it off if desired.

  14. Read Reports on the Use of Urine Therapy to Treat Cancer

  15. Step 1

Find testimonials about cancer treatment from the Cancer Resource Center (see Resources below).

Tips & Warnings
  • Start slowly with minute amounts of urine in a glass of juice, gradually reducing the amount of juice and increasing the amount of urine, to become accustomed to the taste and smell of urine before actually beginning the fast.
  • Be alert for excessive vomiting or diarrhea, sometimes associated with urine fasting. Contact your physician or go to the emergency room if these symptoms continue.
  • Before you start any alternative medical technique, be aware that many have not been scientifically evaluated. Often, only limited information is available about their safety and effectiveness. Each state and each discipline has its own rules about how alternative medicine practitioners can be professionally licensed. If you decide to visit one, choose one that is licensed by a recognized national organization. Consult your primary health care provider about your decision first. Keep your doctor informed about the alternative medical technique you undertake.
