Inspired by their own experiences, many people are driven to learn how to heal others using crystal healing. It's not easy to become a crystal healer. Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access to find schools
  • Money for tuition or fees
  • Previous knowledge of chakras and auras

    Become a Crystal Healer

  1. Step 1

Learn about other types of healing. It may be helpful on your path to learn massage, yoga or Reiki (another form of massage). Often times, schools require previous healing experience.

  2. Step 2

Research basic concepts. As a general prerequisite, you may be asked to have some prior knowledge of both aura (personal atmospheres) and "chakras" (energy centers).

  3. Step 3

Know that you may have to travel far to obtain your credentials. Schools and programs are sparse and many are located in the United Kingdom.

  4. Step 4

Practice at home. Home study is an integral part of the program. You must first learn to heal yourself using crystal therapy before understanding how to heal others.

  5. Step 5

Be prepared to receive a certificate or diploma that may only be recognized within the field. Unfortunately, crystal healing is still perceived to be a form of entertainment in the United States because of the lack of conclusive evidence about its efficacy.

  6. Step 6

Make time for the program. Often, reputable schools have 1- or 2-year-long programs of study.

  7. Step 7

Set aside appropriate funds. Individual courses are most affordable and the longer a program runs, the higher the price escalates.

  8. Step 8

Write to prospective institutions. Information is limited as most schools prefer students to individually contact them first.

  9. Prepare for Your Career

  10. Step 1

Purchase insurance. Since you will be working on bodies, it's best to protect yourself with insurance.

  11. Step 2

Advertise. Look for local alternative health medical offices, yoga studios, bookstores and newspapers geared toward your line of work. Meet your clients where they spend most of their time.

  12. Step 3

Research crystal healing from its birth in ancient time to the present. Visit the "Mystical Soup" Web site for more information (see Resources below).

Tips & Warnings
  • Pricing is variable. In some cases, it can be hard to get an exact cost until you contact the school personally. In other cases, you'll find the cost listed online. For these instances, short-term individual courses are usually least expensive.
  • As a crystal healer, it is important to know what types of symptoms you can treat. Anything beyond minimal or mild, such as seizures or allergic reactions, should be immediately addressed by a medical professional.
  • Crystal healing is not a proven science and results do vary.
  • Before you start any alternative medical technique, be aware that many have not been scientifically evaluated. Often, only limited information is available about their safety and effectiveness. Each state and each discipline has its own rules about how alternative medicine practitioners can be professionally licensed. If you decide to visit one, choose one licensed by a recognized national organization. Consult your primary health care provider about your decision first. Keep your doctor informed about the alternative medical technique you undertake.
