Things You'll Need:
- Illustrations of key points of the palm
- Computer with online connection
-
Step 1
Study why this method was created and how it works to relieve phobias by buying Moshe Zwang's "Palm Therapy: Program Your Mind Through Your Palms" at the Palmtherapy Web site (see resources below).
-
Step 2
Perform mild Palmtherapy techniques on yourself, as described in the previously-mentioned book. Use a hand chart and learn thumb pressure techniques.
-
Step 3
Evaluate types of phobias, which are relentless, unreasonable fears of particular situations or things. This will help you understand your phobia and how it relates to Palmtherapy. You'll find links to articles, history and specific analysis at the Palmtherapy Web site.
-
Step 1
Seek a palm therapist who has experience treating emotional issues. You can find a list of professionals at the Palmtherapy Web site.
-
Step 2
Choose a therapist who is certified by the International Palmtherapy Association (IPTA), founded by Moshe Zwang.
-
Step 3
Ask the therapist if he or she will meet with you beforehand so that you know what to expect for your first visit. Communicate openly with the therapist and get a feel for how he or she responds to you.
-
Step 4
Plan on spending at least an hour per session, at a mid-range price level. It might take several appointments to relieve your phobia.
-
Step 5
Visit professional organizations such as the American Holistic Medicine Association to get guidelines for what to look for in a practitioner (see resources below).
