Transcendental Meditation is a trademarked meditation technique perfected in 1958 by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Many believe it can be used to reduce stress and improve thinking and concentration, as well as to help you feel calmer and more alert. Its central technique is the repetition of a specific sound, called a "mantra," invoked to achieve a state of restful awareness.

on 5/2/2008 To me, TM isn't all that helpful-with my worklife and children and husband and pets and important hobbies, it's impossible for me to suddenly adopt yet another time filling activity, even if it is for the purpose of relaxation. (And is TM really for the purpose of helping a person relax? I thought it was to help someone reach a higher plane of consciousness or something of that nature.)
Basically, this e-How is about how to Adopt the Practice of TM as a part of your way of life. As such, I think it seems excellent, but who am I to judge that?
