How to Search for Shared Stations on Pandora.com

Pandora listeners can share their stations through the Pandora.com Web site and via email or Skype. Search for Shared Stations by artist name or song title, find a friend's Shared Station by using their email address or browse Pandora's Top 20 shared stations.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Flash player
  • US zipcode
  • Broadband Internet connection
  • Computer with a 1Ghz processor and a minimum of 256M of RAM with sound card and speakers or headphones
  • Valid email address

Search for Shared Stations by Artist or Song Title

Step1
Click the 'Search for Shared Stations' button near the Pandora Tuner on Pandora.com's homepage (see Resources below).
Step2
Type a song title or the name of an artist or musical group into the search box on the 'Backstage at Pandora' page.
Step3
Choose a Shared Station from the list that appears. You will be taken to a Station Page that will list that listener's 'Thumbed-up' and 'Thumbed-down' songs, as well as artist 'seeds' used to define the station.
Step4
Click 'Play Now.'
Step5
Run your mouse over the icon of each featured artist as a song plays. You will not be able to vote, but by clicking the menu button you can find out why a song is playing, create a new station or bookmark, find out more about the artist, song or album, or buy it through iTunes or Amazon.
Step6
Click on 'Guide Us' to create your own station or find out why a particular song has been added to that station.
Step7
Click the triangle next to the Shared Station that now appears on your station list on the Pandora Tuner to remove the station, find more fans, share the station, or view its definition.

Search the Top 20 Shared Stations on Pandora.com

Step1
Click the 'Share' button on the Pandora Tuner.
Step2
Click 'Find a Shared Station.'
Step3
Browse the list of the Top 20 Shared Stations on Pandora.
Step4
Click on a station.

Find a Friend's Shared Station

Step1
Click the 'Share' button on the Pandora Tuner.
Step2
Click 'Find a Shared Station.'
Step3
Type your friend's email address into the search box and click the 'Get Shared' button.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you can't find a Shared Station that you like, click 'Create Station' to make one of your own.
  • Click 'Menu,' 'Backstage,' then 'Song' while a song is playing to find out more about the musical qualities of a song and a list of similar songs.
  • Disable pop-up blockers for best results when using Backstage features and sharing stations.
  • Learn more about the Pandora community and its music by clicking 'Blog' on the Pandora Tuner page.
  • When you select a specific artist from a list of Shared Stations, you will be able to choose a station inspired by that artist's music, however, you may not hear that specific artist right away.
  • You will not be able to vote on a Shared Station.
  • Be aware that any comments posted on the Pandora Web site are considered public information. Click the 'Privacy and Terms' link on Pandora's homepage to review 'Station Sharing' in the Privacy Policy.
