Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access
  • Image file in JPG, TIF or GIF format
  • Xanga account with valid username and password

Log on to Your Xanga Profile

  1. Step 1

Visit the Xanga homepage to log in to your Xanga site profile (see Resources below). Enter your username and password and you will be taken to your Xanga site where you can add a profile picture.

  2. Step 2

Click on the 'Public Profile' link.

  3. Step 3

Select the link that says 'Profile Pics' to add a picture to your profile.

  4. Prepare Your Image File

  5. Step 1

Locate the image file you wish to upload. If you are creating a new file, save it using a simple, easy-to-remember file name.

  6. Step 2

Resize your picture using third-party photo editing software. Xanga requires all JPG files to be less than 1 MB in size and all other file extensions less than 50 KB.

  7. Step 3

Add an image to your site that is 170 x 170 pixels or smaller to achieve the best results. Larger images may be compressed automatically, resulting in image distortion.

  8. Upload Your Profile Picture

  9. Step 1

Upload your edited image by clicking on the link that says 'Upload Profile Pics.'

  10. Step 2

Click on the 'Browse' button to select your image for uploading or enter the file name and extension in the 'Choose Picture' field.

  11. Step 3

Hit the 'Upload Picture' button to upload the image. It may take some time to upload your image, depending on the size of the image. You will see the message 'Your picture has been uploaded' when the upload is complete.

  12. Step 4

Make sure that you select 'Yes' under the 'Default Pic' link.

  13. Step 5

See how your new profile picture looks by clicking on the 'Back to Your Xanga Site' link.
